Waterless colour woven into world-class fabric

Amphicolor™ weaves colour through optical mixing, combining just six solution-dyed yarns into an expansive palette of thousands of unique colour combinations, without a single dye bath.

For this collection, we matched Olmetex’s AW27/28 forecast and wove more than 200 shades in 40-denier nylon using Microlon® by Aquafil yarns. Each fabric looks multi-coloured under a microscope, but reads as a uniform shade to the eye.

Why waterless colour matters

Solution dyeing uses roughly half the water and produces around 60% less carbon than conventional dyeing. Amphicolor™ extends that benefit across a colour range that rivals conventional dyeing in scope.

About the partnership

Amphicolor™ is Amphico’s colour intelligence platform, developed to bring waterless colour to woven textiles at the scale and range that brands actually need. Founded in Como in 1952, Olmetex has spent seven decades refining the craft of technical fabric production, known for high-performance fabrics built for demanding applications, from outdoor to performance apparel.

Together, they are applying that manufacturing depth to a new way of making colour.
